London
Renovation in London, borough by borough.
Georgian terraces in Islington, mansion flats in Kensington, Victorian semis in Wandsworth. Each borough has its own conservation rules, and we know them.

Local knowledge
Three things London asks of a builder.
-
Conservation areas
Half of inner London is one. Front elevations, roof lines and sash windows have rules, and the application is written to them.
-
Party walls and neighbours
Every terrace shares two walls. Notices go out before the start, and the surveyor's award is in the fixed price.
-
Parking, skips and hours
Suspensions booked with the borough, skip permits in place, working hours agreed with the building. The pavement stays clean.
Questions
About working in London.
Do you work in my borough?
If it is on the list above, a survey is available within a week. If it is not, write anyway: outer boroughs are usually possible with a little more notice.
Can you work in a listed building?
Yes. Listed building consent is written together with the drawings, and the design respects the fabric that is protected. It takes longer; the survey tells you how much.
Where is the office?
Bermondsey Street, SE1, ten minutes from London Bridge. Design meetings happen there or at the property, as you prefer.
